O (meu) primeiro vampiro

Lá tinha de ser. Eis o meu primeiro vampiro.

MY FIRST VAMPIRE
It had to come by sooner or later. Here’s my first vampire. In this case, I’m afraid I was the vampire, having taken a portrait of a 17th century English nobleman (the time and place of the beginning of the plot) by Van Dyck and adapted it slightly to this mischievous end. No fangs showing, only that sickly, decadent look of a good ol’ time vampire. The red scarf on his arm is a perfect symbolic “ready made” for the allusion of blood. (See the finished cover for the Portuguese edition of Brian Stableford’s Empire of Fear).
